CYPRUS 1963 TO 1974
THE GREEKS AND THE GREEK CYPRIOTS, WHO CREATED MASS GRAVES IN CYPRUS AND DROVE THOUSANDS OF TURKISH CYPRIOTS FROM THEIR HOMES BETWEEN 1963 AND 1974 ARE NOW SAYING THAT SERBS, WHO ARE DOING THE SAME TO ALBANIANS, ARE THEIR BROTHERS. THEY ARE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO HELP THEM WITH THEIR WAR EFFORTS.

KOSOVO 1999

AT THIS STAGE IN KOSOVO CRISIS THE HARD FACTS OF THE ATROCITIES THAT MOLISEVIC AND HIS
MURDEROUS ARMY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. NO DOUBT WHEN THE CRISIS SETTLES DOWN WE WILL SEE THE TRUE FACE OF THE SERBS AS WE DID IN BOSNIA. THROUGHOUT THIS CONFLICT GREEKS AND GREEK CYPRIOTS THE SO CALLED ALLIES OF THE WEST SHOWED THEIR TRUE CHARACTERS. WHILE STAYING QUIET ABOUT THE SERB ATROCITIES AT THE BEGINNING, AFTER THE NATO BOMBINGS STARTED THEY DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP IT. THEIR MERCENARIES WENT TO SERBIA TO FIGHT AGAINST NATO, THEY STOPPED SUPPLIES TO NATO, gREEK TERROR ORGANISATIONS WHO HAVE LINKS WITH THE GREEK GOVERNMENT ATTACKED THE INTERESTS OF NATO COUNTRIES IN GREECE, WHICH INCLUDED EMBASSIES OF GERMANY AND HOLLAND. NO DOUBT THE HISTORY WILL JUDGE THE ONES WHO KILLED HUNDREDS OF BABIES, CHILDREN, WOMEN AND MEN TOGETHER WITH THEIR HELPERS. HISTORY WILL ALSO JUDGE THE TWO FACED HYPOCRITES OF THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WHO SAYS AND DOES NOTHING AGAINST THE GREEKS AND THE GREEK CYPRIOTS FOR WHAT THEY CREATED IN CYPRUS AND THE HELP THEY EXTEND  TO SERBS FOR THEIR ATROCITIES IN BOSNIA AND KOSOVO. IF TURKEY DID WHAT THE GREEKS ARE DOING NO DOUBT SHE WOULD BE SUBJECTED TO EMBARGOES AND OTHER PUNISHMENT. THIS WAS THE CASE IN 1974 WHEN TURKEY STOPPED THE MASSACRE OF THE TURKISH CYPRIOTS BY THE GREEKS, SHE WAS SUBJECTED TO EMBARGOES FOR YEARS.

Kyprianou’s Suspicious Mission

Speaker of the Greek Cypriot parliament Spyros Kyprianou was in Belgrade at the beginning of the month, in a bid to get Milosevic to release the three American soldiers abducted by Serb forces from the Macedonian border region. However, the effort, which was destined to fail, raised questions as to why the Greek Cypriot speaker was asked to act as the mediator.
Greek sources claimed that the Serbian leader had asked Kyprianou to mediate between the sides for the release of the American soldiers. Answering questions as to why Kyprianou was chosen for this mission by Milosevic, Greek spokesperson Dimitris Reppas said, "Nicosia and Belgrade had traditionally enjoyed good relations within the Non-Aligned Movement while, in addition, Cyprus was not a NATO member."
However, officials of Milosevic's Socialist Party said they had been unaware of the veteran Cypriot politician's mission until just before his arrival at Belgrade airport. But the officials said Kyprianou, who was met at the airport by a top Serbian parliamentarian, was a friend of Serbia and was always welcome.
When Kyprianou's mission failed to achieve the release of the soldiers he blamed the US and the NATO for the failure and strongly condemned them for continued bombing while he was in Serbia. However, the US officials said that the NATO did not say that it would stop bombing while Kyprianou was in Serbia, but it only offered to stop the bombing while Kyprianou was flying in and out of Serbia.
Few days after accusing the US and the NATO for the failure of this mission, surprisingly both the Serbs and the Greek Cypriots claimed that the mission was successful.
Cyprus Mail reported on 14 April 1999 that "after a meeting with Kyprianou, Ambassador Ivan Mrkic spoke cryptically about how successful and positive the visit had been."  Asked by journalists why Belgrade felt that way, Mrkic replied: "They have their own reasons."
Following the Greek Cypriot media reports around this issue and considering the harsh criticism of NATO by the Greek Cypriot politicians, media and people, one could not help thinking that the Greek Cypriots and Kyprianou were not really concerned about the release of the American soldiers but were out to get brownie points for themselves.
Cyprus Mail reported that "Kyprianou is one of Clerides' fiercest critics, and securing the release of the US captives would constitute a personal coup for the opposition Diko party leader."
An announcement by the Greek Cypriot leader Glafcos Clerides on his return to South Cyprus from a visit to Syria, which dismissed Kyprianou's claims that the mission had been down to Kyprianou's own initiative, further gave the impression that Kyprianou was trying to gain political advantage out the issue.
Greek Cypriot media saw Kyprianou's initiative as "good for Cyprus as it had put the island at the centre of world attention."
Claims of the Greek spokesperson Reppas that Kyprianou was chosen because Serbia had good relationship with Cyprus is not convincing. Considering that Russia too has excellent relation with Milosevic and certainly more influence than South Cyprus, Reppas's answer was not satisfactory.
This suspicious mission of Kyprianou also raised the question about the sincerity of this venture in the Western media. A report by The Irish Times on 10 April 1999 was perhaps the explanation for the real reason for this effort. There is money involved; not just few millions of dollars but billions, both in Greece and in Cyprus.
Greek and Greek Cypriots openly support PKK, a terror organisation, and they do not hide the fact that they support a butcher like Milosevic while the West is fighting to topple him and his brutal regime. Greeks and Greek Cypriots are sending mercenaries to fight the West. The money and the aid they are giving to Serbs enable them to carry on with their butchery of the Albanians.
It is the common concern of the Turkish Cypriots and the Turks, as to how long more the EU and the US will tolerate the behaviour of the Greeks. Greeks and the Greek Cypriots certainly feel closer to the Serbs and the Russians than the West. When are they going to be asked to leave NATO and the EU?

Greek Volunteers in Yugoslavia
The Greek news agency MPA reported on 25 March 1999 that "Greek volunteers are ready to leave for Belgrade in order to offer any kind of help to the Serb people."
MPA said that "In charge of this effort is 46 year old businessman Stavros Vitalis from Thessaloniki, who has already secured the participation of 250 people in the effort. He stated to MPA that they want to help the Serbs as they did in Bosnia and among the 250 people are lawyers, doctors and other professionals, adding that they are on the side of the Serbs because they regard them as friends and brothers."
According to the Greek Cypriot media as well as the Greek volunteers, around 130 Greek Cypriot volunteers went to help the Serbs. The International Affairs organisation (INAF) reported that during the war in Bosnia around 500 Greek and Greek Cypriot volunteers were helping the Serbs. INAF also reported that INTERPOL is still looking for 20 Greek nationals as war criminals.
Apart from the volunteers going to Serbia to fight against NATO, there were support for the butcher Milosevic from all sectors of Greece. Greek trade unions stopped work and joined demonstrations protesting the NATO.
The AEK Athens football club went to Belgrade on 8 April 1999 for a friendly game with the Serbian team Partizan.
The Greek news agency ANA "AEK players, team officials, reporters and political personalities from Greece received a rousing welcome from local residents."
The News agency also reported that "AEK's management repeatedly stated over the past week that 'sports were over and above politics' and that the team's visit to Belgrade was aimed at sending a message of peace and not politics."
"The president of the Greek republic, Kostis Stefanopoulos, the speaker of the Greek parliament, Apostolos Kaklamanis, and Archbishop Christodoulos of 'Athens and All Greece' were among those who lashed out at Washington for its stand over Yugoslavia. They were harshly critical of the NATO attacks and pronounced their support for the Serbs," the news agency said.
Joining in with the support for Milosevic was the LOGOS TV and radio of the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church. LOGOS staged a telethon for Yugoslavia where £70,000 was collected.
Greek Cypriot news agency said "Television coverage began at 5pm and ended at midnight, viewers and listeners could call in pledges, and donations can be made at all major banks."
The agency also said "More money was collected by volunteers who manned kiosks across the island, while the appeal has also been taken into cyberspace at:
www.logos.cy.net/helpserbia.html. In addition to cash, medicine, clothing and foodstuffs were also promised, with several large pharmaceutical companies offering medical supplies."

EOKA CELEBRATIONS IN SOUTH CYPRUS

South Cyprus celebrated the 44th anniversary of EOKA's struggle against British colonial rule.
The Greek Cypriot daily Cyprus Mail reported under the headline, "Eoka struggle should inspire today's youth", that the Greek Cypriot leaders called on the youth to take inspiration from the EOKA struggles.
According to the report "In his address to teachers, students and school pupils, Education Minister Ouranios Ioannides said 'the dawn of April 1 1955 represented one of Hellenism's greatest moments. The whole of Hellenism, with all its ideals, virtues and power combined in the life and death of the great generation of 1955 to 1959'."
"Ioannides said that the fighters, inspired by Archbishop Makarios and Eoka leader General Grivas, 'wrote the brightest pages in the history of modern Cypriot Hellenism, and the fight for Cyprus' freedom is continuing in other forms'." the paper said.
Political party leaders also made statements, which glorified the 'heroes' of EOKA and called upon the Greek Cypriots to follow their example.
The messages given by the Greek Cypriot political leaders portrayed the terror organisation EOKA as an organisation, which fought for freedom and independence for Cyprus. They are all hiding the fact that the terror organisation EOKA only fought to achieve Enosis (union with Greece) and during this so called struggle for independence they killed hundreds of British, Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots.
Added to the terrorist acts in the 1950's and 1960's, EOKA along with Greek army officers staged a coup against the Greek Cypriot government on 15 July 1974. As Makarios himself said in his speech at the UN General Assembly on 19 July 1974 they caused the death of around 3000 Greek Cypriots.
The suffering that was caused in Cyprus over the last four decades is the direct result of the Greeks and the Greek Cypriots' desire for Enosis.
Many of the present Greek Cypriot political leaders were founder members of EOKA. Instead of learning from their past mistakes and the resulting suffering, they are telling their youth to follow the lead of EOKA.
It is fitting to remind the readers of a letter written to some Greek Cypriots by General Grivas, the leader of EOKA. The letter was written because these Greek Cypriot villagers were travelling to work on a bus belonging to a Turkish Cypriot.

"EOKA,
Gentlemen, according to our information you are making grave mistakes, which could endanger the existence of the Hellenism in Cyprus.
For example in the Dikehlia area you are using the bus of a Turkish Cypriot to go to work instead of a Greek Cypriot owned bus. You are a disgrace before god and humanity, you are letting the Turks exploit you, this is very embarrassing.
You are Greeks; don't you realise that you are sinning and betraying your fatherland by collaborating with the Turks? I ORDER YOU TO STOP COLLABORATING WITH THEM IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise EOKA the punisher will take the blood of the traitors and teach you a lesson.
When the water and fire become friends and when the heaven and hell get together that is when we can be friends with the Turks.
Don't forget that within 3 hours of receiving the copies of my letter, you must stop working with the Turks. OTHERWISE I WILL IMMEDIATELY GIVE YOUR EXECUTION ORDERS.

DIGHENIS
THE LEADER OF EOKA."

When the Greek Cypriots started their struggle for Enosis, they ignored the existence and the rights of the Turkish Cypriots, which got them no where. Today they are still pursuing the goal of Enosis with the help of the EU. They are again ignoring the rights of the Turkish Cypriots to equality and sovereignty. This will get them no where.

Mercy mission highlights cash held in Cyprus.
There are curious links between Slobodan Milosevic and Cyprus. Séamus Martin follows a money trail for Irish Times.

CYPRUS: The efforts by the speaker of the Cypriot parliament, Mr Spyros Kyprianou, to secure the release in Belgrade of the three captured US airmen, which ended in failure last night, have highlighted a relationship less surprising than at first sight.
The Mediterranean island has links with Serbia which go beyond a common Orthodox-Christian heritage. There is money involved, lots of money, and much of it belongs to Mr Milosevic, his family and friends.
In the days before the NATO bombings - a time when hundreds of thousands of Serbs marched in the Yugoslav capital demanding Mr Milosevic's resignation - the word "Cyprus" was heard frequently in whispered conversations about the dictator's wrong doings. It was usually accompanied by the rubbing together of fingers and thumbs to indicate that hard cash was involved.
Cyprus, to put it simply, is where Mr Milosevic has stashed his ill-gotten gains. Some Western observers believe he and his friends have several billion dollars there.
It should be noted, too, that Cypriots are among the strongest opponents of NATO's Yugoslav campaign. Turkey, a NATO member, invaded Cyprus causing a massive displacement of Greek Cypriots. The rest of NATO looked on and did nothing.
Politically aligned against NATO and coming from the country that is minding the Milosevic family fortune, Mr Kyprianou had better credentials than most to deal with the Yugoslav President in his albeit failed effort to secure the release of US servicemen.
US News uncovered the flight of vast amounts of money, including $3.8 billion in citizens' foreign-currency deposits seized by the Milosevic government.
International sanctions imposed in 1992 actually helped rather than hindered Mr Milosevic and his supporters. Raw materials were badly needed. Smuggling was the only way to get them and in smuggling there was, as always, a lot of money to be made.
This money and the seized foreign currency made its way from Belgrade to banks in Cyprus and Moscow. The Moscow banks had also developed strong links with Cyprus, and it appears most of the money sent to Russia ended up in Cyprus.
A web of secret accounts was spun from the Nicosia office of the Yugoslav Bank, Beogradska Banka. Political supporters of Mr Milosevic, particularly those connected with state companies, won lucrative contracts. The opposition leader, Mr Zoran Dzindjic, now mayor of Belgrade, exposed a scheme in 1996 in which Milosevic associates made $100 million on dealings in state-owned wheat.
Mr Milosevic, his wife, Mirjana Markovic, and other members of their family have made handsome profits while their citizens' lives deteriorated.
Some events have been reminiscent of the Chicago of the 1930s or the Moscow of the 1990s.
One business associate of Mr Milosevic's son, Marko, met his end in a burst of gunfire in the basement car-park of the Sava Centre building in Belgrade.
Known as "Tref", Vladimir Kovacevic had lots of money and a couple of dozen fast cars from the duty-free shop business in which he partnered Marko Milosevic.

 “The People of the Gate”

In a letter he wrote to the US President Bill Clinton, the head of the Greek Orthodox Church of US Archbishop Pavlos called on Clinton to stop NATO bombing of Serbia.
In his letter Pavlos claimed that the NATO's bombing of Serbia was unprovoked and immoral. Pretending that his interest lies with the American people he warned the US President that the US is "poised on the brink of disaster, a disaster that is manifold in its dimensions and character."
He claimed that the Americans are sending their "sons into an open-ended quagmire that will bring only death and destruction for all involved" and said that "American boys are being asked to prepare to kill and die because Serbia is defending her Christian heartland against Muslim fundamentalists, secessionists, and terrorists."
Pavlos went on to claim that "Legally speaking our country is heading toward the perpetration of a crime of international proportions. We are acting without a UN mandate."
Expressing his support for the Serbs and referring to the Ottoman Turks he said, "Throughout history it is this very civilization that has always been a bulwark against the hordes that came from the east to threaten Europe. It is the Serbs that are known to history as 'the People of the Gate' because they guarded the door to Europe in the Krajina. The Krajina Serbs are now no more thanks to a previous NATO strike in 1995. Do we want to eliminate one more Orthodox Christian Civilization before the end of our century?"
Pavlos than went on to criticise Clinton for his comments about Turkey being a moderate Muslim country. "As I write this letter I am listening to your speech on CNN. You are claiming Turkey is a 'moderate Muslim State'. Is that because they are attempting to eliminate the Kurdish culture and identity from the face of our planet? Is it because they are consistently claiming the Aegean Islands of Greece as their own and keep up a posture of threat against Greece? The modern and 'moderate' Turkish State was founded by Mustapha Kemal, the man who in 1922 burnt the cosmopolitan city of Smyrna to the ground and roasted alive her two hundred thousand Christian occupants."
He further claimed that "The modern and 'moderate' State of Turkey also killed millions of Greek Orthodox Christians in Anatolia and Pontus earlier this century," and asked Clinton "Is this the type of moderate Muslim future state that the KLA envisions for Kosovo?"
Pavlos further talked about the bravery of the Serbs throughout the history. He told Clinton how the Serbs killed  "Turkey's Sultan" and how bravely they fought against Hitler's war-machine.
Pavlos further warned Clinton by saying "Mr. President, do not be so naive as to believe that the young men of America's armed forces will not pay a heavy price in blood if we continue on this road."
At the and of his letter Pavlos said that he is praying that Clinton finds "the courage to face the American people and tell them we made a mistake and that we must call off a NATO strike."
He then signed off as follows: 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.' St. Matthew 4:9. In Christ, I am, Metropolitan Archbishop PAVLOS of the Greek Orthodox Old Calendar Church of North and South America."

..................................

This astonishing letter by Pavlos, the head of the Greek Orthodox Church of the US, clearly demonstrates his support for the Serb aggressors and his hatred of the Turks and Muslims.
In his efforts to persuade President Clinton to stop the NATO's air attacks on Serbia, firstly he told Clinton that American boys will be killed unnecessarily fighting the brave Serbian people and then he argued that the NATO actions are illegal. In doing so he used Christian values to support his arguments.
In the latter part of his letter, Pavlos, referring back to some five centuries ago, distorted historical facts in order to bring accusations to muslims.
The hatred he displayed towards the Turks and the Albanians showed that he is nothing but a fanatic, who hates Turks and Muslims and sees the Serbs as brave heroes who are the protectors of Christianity.
Like the Greek politicians and almost all of the Greek population, he supports the fanatical Serbs who caused the death of some 300,000 people in the Balkans, who recreated the concentration camps of the Nazi Germany and who raped 50,000 women.
While he was distorting the history completely, he forgot to mention that it was the Greeks who invaded Turkey in 1919 and were driven out in 1922 by the Turkish army under the leadership of Ataturk.
The retreating Greek soldiers, who committed atrocities against the Turks similar to the ones that the Serbs are committing in Kosovo today, burned down Izmir. It would be odd for the Turks to burn down their own city that they were taking back from the invading Greek army. Just like in Cyprus the aggressors are now claiming to be the victims.
The e-mail address of Pavlos, which is 'Smyrna1922@AOL.COM', clearly shows what kind a fanatic he is. We can only pray for his soul and thank God that millions of Christians around the world do not agree with his understanding of Christianity.

Greek threats spark exodus

An article published by The Times on 12 April 1999 shows the depth of hatred felt towards Albanians by some fanatical groups in Greece. The behaviour of these groups is the result of the official line towards Albanians pursed by Greece.

“Greek threats spark exodus
From James Pettifer In Kakavia.

HIGH up here in the Buret mountains on the Greek-Albanian border, hundreds of Albanian workers are fleeing Greece with their families after death threats from Orthodox extremists sympathetic to the Serbs.
Usually people leave Albania for Greece but the war has brought a queue of cars miles long stretching down the hillside. Many come from northern Greek towns with strong nationalist and Orthodox traditions.
Miranda and Ilir Gjika's Fiat is loaded with all their belongings after three years' work in the town of Arta. "We had our flat windows broken. Then our boy here was hit in the street. Last week they painted 'Orthodoxy or Death' and a Cross on the flat door," they said.
The Greek nationalist Right has a strong clerical flavour, from the lunatic fringe that wants to take 666 off the telephone directory because it is the Devil's number to young skinheads who have adapted Orthodox vocabulary, however much the church rejects them.
Further along the line of cars was Arben, an engineer who had been studying in Salonika. With the city's large Serb population, he felt a target. "They threw me out of the university dormitory."
For Greeks, Albanian crime is a big problem. Popular feeling over the war is overwhelmingly pro-Serb, and a football match last week between Partizan of Belgrade and a Greek team turned into a wild anti-Nato demonstration. Continued bombing over the Orthodox Easter has brought popular feeling to a head.”
